BHS Hoopsters Pick Up Pair of Wins, Boys Now 9-7

February 9, 2010 — When senior co-captain Blake Blaze took off on a fast break and rocked the rim with an all-out slam dunk, the BHS gymnasium erupted last night as the Red Raider boys defeated Dennis-Yarmouth 65-46. The boys qualified for the state tournament as they now stand at 9-7 on the season. The BHS girls raised their record to 7-10 with a decisive 43-25 win on the road, also versus the D-Y Dolphins.

Backed by Alex Rurycz's second double-double in as many games (18 pts., 12 rebs.), the Red Raiders took a back-and-forth affair on the road last night (Jan. 5) versus OCL foe Attleboro, 49-48 in overtime. All totalled, Barnstable pounded the boards for 53 rebounds. Sophomores Rogetta Donalson and Olivia Costello had 11 and 9 points, respectively to help pace the Red & White to victory.
