Mini-Red Raiders Go 2-1 at BasketballCity, Boston

The Barnstable Mini-Red Raiders 6th Grade Boys Travel Basketball Team were crowned tournament runners-up Saturday (Jan. 12) at BasketballCity in Boston, after defeating Winchester, 41-20, and Brookline, 54-48.

    Versus Brookline, Barnstable found itself down by 10 points early on but clawed its way back to tie the game up and take a lead it would not relinquish. Four Barnstable players scored in the double figures for the first time in a single game in team history in the 54-48 victory.

    Rob Stuart led all scorers with 12 points, followed by Sam Telman and Derek Estes each with 11 points and Conor Walsh with 10 points, including two critical three-pointers that helped Barnstable stay ahead as Brookline continued to chip away at Barnstable's small lead.

    Marcus Cunningham finished with six points and added a pair of assists and three rebounds. Telman had a double-double with 12 rebounds and three assists. Timmy Rodrigues and Mike Bilodeau also scored for Barnstable, each with a bucket.
