BMS Boys Stage Stellar Comeback To Take Down Mashpee, 73-50 Ten Barnstable players put up numbers Tuesday night with Tim Biliouris pouring in a team-high 15 points for the day to lead the Barnstable Middle School boys basketball team to a 73-50 come-from-behind win. Down 31-22 at the half, Barnstable roared back to score 51 second half points while holding Mashpee to just 17 points in the latter frame. Down 31-22 at the half, Barnstable staged a solid third quarter comeback and tied it at 36-36 when Tevin Hill stole the ball at midcourt and sent it down the floor to Justin Alvaran. Barnstable never relinquished the lead again. The boys are now 6-0 on the season and head to Wixon School on Thursday (Jan. 24). Alvaran netted 10 points on the day, while Bob Melley had 11 points. Ty Adams collected eight points and Everett Walsh and Tevin Hill each had six points. BMS Boys Keep on Rolling at 5-0 Fourteen of Barnstable Middle School's 17 players put numbers on the scoreboard Tuesday (Jan. 15) in a model of efficiency as the Red & White defeated visiting Harwich, 69-48. Tevin Hill led Barnstable with 13 points, while Everett Walsh and Tim Biliouris each had 10 points. BMS Boys Go To 4-0 With just 7.4 seconds left in the game and the score knotted at 53-53, Tyler Adams went all out in a defensive effort to take the ball away from Falmouth and caused a jump ball that resulted in Barnstable's possession. Everett Walsh then lofted a high deep pass down the court to Bob Melley who dribbled toward the foul line and then nailed a 10-foot jumper to secure a 55-53 Barnstable Middle School boys victory at the buzzer. Walsh led with 16 points on the day and recorded his second double-double of the season with 11 rebounds. Big man Tim Biliouris followed with 11 points, 7 rebounds, two blocked shots, two assists and a steal in a rock solid effort and Melley had 10 points, going 5-7 from the floor with four rebounds. Tevin Hill played an exceptional game, collecting eight points, had five rebounds and seven assists as well as two steals. Falmouth's Steven Lennon led the Clippers with 17 points on the day. BMS Boys Go To 3-0 Tevin Hill and Justin Alvaran paced the BMS boys to an efficient, 48-33, win over visiting Mattacheese Middle School Wednesday (Jan. 9), with Barnstable jumping out to a quick 15-0 lead before Coach Bruce Robertson emptied the bench. D.J. Griswold led Mattacheese with 12 points. For Barnstable, Tyler Adams had 7 points, followd by Damon Blake with 6 and Tim Biliouris with 6 points.Five other Red Raiders scored in the game, including Travis Kendrew, Jeremy Hatstat, Joe D'Olimpio, Jake Kipnes, Dada Springer and Cam Lariviere. BMS Handles Wixon, 52-37 Everett Walsh and Bob Melley each poured in 14 points to help pace the Red Raiders to a 52-37 victory over visiting Wixon Monday (Jan. 7), followed by a solid 10-point performance from Tevin Hill. Jeremy Hatstat turned in his second-straight six-point effort, followed byJames Starkey (4 pts., 3 rebs.), Justin Alvaran (2 pts.) and Travis Kendrew (2 pts.) Walsh turned in his first double-double of the season, adding 10 rebounds and had four steals. Melley also did well on the boards with 8 rebounds. Hatstat and Hill combined for 10 rebounds (five apiece) and went a combined 7-15 from the floor. Hill added two steals. BMS Boys Thrash Nauset, 72-31 Tim Biliouris and Bob Melley each had 12 points, followed by Travis Kendrew (11), Everett Walsh and Tevin Hill (7) and Ty Adams, Justin Alvaran and Jeremy Hatstat each with 6 points to pace the Red Raiders to a 72-31 trouncing of Nauset on opneing day last Friday. Damon Blake, Charlie Rice, James Burke and James Starkey each added 2 points to round off the scoring. |
